Albarn has yet another project on the go
Not content with juggling Gorillaz, last year's Blur reformation and his other supergroup, The Good, The Bad & The Queen, Damon Albarn has put together another new, as yet nameless, band. The project involves Flea of Red Hot Chili Peppers fame and influential Afrobeat drummer Tony Allen, who has worked with Albarn before. Albarn says the group "three-quarters finished" on their debu,t which is set to feature some of the singer's "favourite African musicians".
Besides this new record, Albarn is also completing another Gorillaz album slap bang in the middle of their current world tour. Recorded on the road, it will apparently be a tour diary of sorts. Still no sign of another big Blur reunion on the horizon however - Albarn says he plans to give up touring for five or six years to concentrate on being a dad.
