Currently recording in Windmill Lane Studios, the Voice Of Ireland judge took time out to talk to Hot Press.
Niall Breslin began work today on his new album project for Cycle Against Suicide in Dublin's Windmill Lane Studios. He's enlisted the likes of Danny O'Reilly and Pat Byrne to help out this month, with each musician contributing an original track dealing with mental health, an issue very close to his heart.
He's already given talks around the country and undertaken sporting events for the cause; this record will raise further awareness and funds.
"The message was, we have a plan to deal with suicide that they implemented in Germany very successfully," Breslin explains. "But the Irish government won't implement it even though it's cheap. So we're going to implement it, we're going to pay for it. In Clare first and then spread it around the country. This is the creative side of things. They're helping to raise awareness. Hopefully to knock the stigma of mental health."
This morning, Paul Walsh of Royseven laid down his track and Hot Press arrived just in time to meet Gavin James at the door. The Dublin singer then ran through his still-untitled contribution with Bressie on piano.

Afterwards, Bressie took a break from the studio for a chat with Hot Press, where he opened up about his own problems with anxiety over the years. Also on the agenda was whether or not he'll return for another series of The Voice Of Ireland, his concerns for how the winners have been handled, his take on Thom Yorke's stance against Spotify, and the furore that arose when comments he made in Hot Press about the legalisation of cannabis were taken out of context by the Irish Daily Mirror.
