The documentary will be re-aired December 10, the night of the Nobel prize-giving ceremony.
Dylan himself has announced that he will be unable to attend the prize-giving ceremony on December 10, but that hasn't stopped the rest of us from celebrating his win. The BBC will be re-airing the Martin Scorsese documentary about Bob Dylan's life and work, No Direction Home, the same night of the ceremony. The film is considered to be one of the greatest music documentaries, and it takes an in-depth look at the media storm that occurred when Dylan rose to fame in the sixties. The film has exclusive footage of Dylan back in the day, as well as interviews with him, Joan Baez, Liam Clancey, Bob Neuwirth, Pete Seeger, and more.
The documentary was released ten years ago, and there is also now a 10th Anniversary edition available on DVD with over two hours of bonus content. The special edition includes a Blu-ray copy, as well as an exclusive magazine produced by Dylan himself that features reproductions of important articles, as well as lithographic photo prints of Dylan.
No Direction Home will re-air on BBC Four Friday, December 9. Watch the trailer for the 10th anniversary edition below.
