The three remaining members of the icon progressive rock band came together to issue a statement of support for "Women’s Boat to Gaza", a group of women from around the world who set sail from Barcelona to Gaza last month, sponsored by the Freedom Flotilla Coalition, a group opposed to Israel’s siege of the area.
The Women’s Boat was intercepted by the Israeli navy earlier this week, and the crew arrested.
Pink Floyd's Facebook page posted the message of support for the detainees on Wednesday and cited the endorsement of David Gilmour, Nick Mason and Roger Waters. The post reappeared again on Waters' own Facebook page.
Roger Waters has continually campaigned on the behalf of Palestinians ever since he visited Israel in 2005. He has called for a cultural boycott of the state and for institutions to divest themselves of their interests in the country.

The Freedom Flotilla said it expects the women to be released quickly and the attention drawn to the cause by figures such a Gilmour and Water will undoubtedly have helped the cause.
Pink Floyd will also be releasing a monumental 27-disc box set on November 11 titled The Early Years 1965-1972 which will contain huge amounts of unreleased music.
