Upside Down
Follow-up to the hugely successful ‘True Friends’, this one boasts an even sleazier, swampier, vocal growl from Ger Whelan and some stellar playing from his merry bunch. A true carnival of a tune it slowly builds into a crescendo of Latino brass and soulful backing vocals but what really impresses here is the stunning production and crystal-clear mix. Also included is a charming version of the Lee Hazelwood/Nancy Sinatra duet ‘Did You Ever’, featuring Juliet Turner.
