The former And So I Watch You From Afar man was seduced by Savages & Worry Porn...
Favourite Track of 2016?
Adore, by Savages. A crescendo of apocalyptic abandon. Just glorious.
Favourite Album of 2016?
A Tribe Called Quest, We Got it From Here, Thank You 4 Your Service. 2016 was, as we know, mainly take take take, but then the Titan ATCQ swooped in and rescued us from all the misery & death, even if only fleetingly. Whilst not reinventing the wheel it did something far more satisfying, put a smile on a lot of people faces. This one included. Thank you ATCQ.
Favourite Gig of the year?
Car Seat Head Rest @ Grimey's Record Store, Nashville. On the recommendation of a friend I went along to this in May, to get some refuge from songs about pickup trucks. Was duly blown away as they reminded me of all the great things about being in a band on the way up.
Favourite Film?
Elvis & Nixon. Michael Shannon & Kevin Spacey in a fictional, comedic take on what happened when Elvis decided he wanted to be an honorary agent on drug control & showed up at the White House unannounced. Because he's Elvis. Basically he was gonna tout on Aerosmith and David Crosby. The daft hypocrite.

Favourite TV Show
Hyper-Normalisation, documentary by Adam Curtis. Between this and Black Mirror, a new sub genre has been born... Worry Porn. A New Paranoia...if I may. (Sorry/not sorry)
Favourite Book?
Gull, by Glenn Patterson. A semi-fictionalised account of John DeLoreans iconic & ill fated eponymous time travelling car, made in Belfast. I can't recommend it enough. As Glenn himself notes at the books start, "I made this all up, apart from the bits you just couldn't".
