Planet Rock Profiles return to our screens with interviews from Ashanti, Westlife, Ja Rule, Alanis Morrisette and more
Planet Rock Profiles is back on Network 2 tonight, Friday February 28, at 11.30pm with a special on American hip hopper Ashanti.
Fronted by Tom Dunne, the sixth series of the interview show runs on the state broadcaster until May 9 and includes further exclusives with Westlife, Ja Rule, Alanis Morrisette, Sugababes, Nickelback, Samantha Mumba, Richard Ashcroft, JJ72 and The Cranberries.
First aired in 1995, Planet Rock Profiles now airs in a staggering 98 countries ranging from the US and Canada to Brunei and Slovenia.
It's a major coup for Monster Distributes, the Dublin-based production company whose most recent deal is with The Biography Channel.
"It's selection and prominent scheduling by such a well-respected channel demonstrates that it's more than just a music series," enthuses Monster Chairman Andrew Fitzpatrick. "Planet Rock allows the viewer to get an insight into what inspires musicians to do what they do and to see how their careers have developed."
The Biography Channel starts showing Planet Rock Profiles at 7pm on May 8.
