Mark Stoermer has been with the group since its earliest days.
Mark Stoermer, bassists for indie rockers The Killers, will not be touring with the band in the the future. He will however, still be involved in recording the band's new record.
Stoermer has said he made the decision not to tour with the group as he wants to "pursue other educational goals" and make a new solo record. There is no official word on who his replacement will be however it is widely speculated that it will be American singer-songwriter Jake Blanton.
Blanton has filled in for Stoermer in the past when the latter bassists could not tour with The Killers in the Far East in 2013.
The Killers last released new music in 2012 with the record Battle Born. In 2011 Stoermer released a solo album entitled, Another Life but was unable to tour it as he was finishing Battle Born.
The band are set to begin touring again this summer with shows in Ontaria and New York next month. Speaking to Loaded last November frontman Brandon Flowers said they will most likely be working it their regular producers, Flood and Alan Moulder, on their new album.
