A touch of Neil Hannon peeks happily through on ‘A Taste’, the innately quirky new single from London power poppers Motorcycle Display Team, taken from debut album Captatio Benevolentiae, released late last year. Over three-and-a-half memorable minutes, twee melodies and a funk-influenced bassline take the edge off of the somersaulting guitars. Vocalist Steven Hinds injects a little growl into proceedings.
