Defective houses victims demand 100% redress in Dublin protest (Photos)
The fight goes on as demonstrators gather around the Custom House in Dublin led by People Before Profit TD Paul Murphy to demand a 100% redress scheme to guarantee a safe home for those affected by construction defects.
“Before Christmas, the Taoiseach and the Minister for Housing repeatedly told the Dáil that a proposal for redress would be brought to cabinet before Christmas. It never appeared. If it’s accurate that a proposal for redress will be discussed tomorrow, that is welcome”, Murphy states on a press release with the hashtag #NotOurFault. “The devil will be in the detail of the scheme. Victims of Mica were told they were getting a 100% scheme, but the small print means the scheme is only an 80% scheme for many”.
