Science Gallery Dublin have announced the launch of a new live coding event entitled SIGNAL.
The event will aim to bring together artists and fellow creators to examine upcoming trends, new technology and careers in music. The series will consist of discussions and interactive demonstrations focused on exploring how coding is becoming the frame on which digital music production and live performance is created.
The event which will take place in Science Gallery Dublin in Trinity College is set to be hosted by Martin Clancy. Clancy is a music researcher at Trinity College’s Long Room Hub who has over 30 years of experience as both a music producer and an industry professional.
Clancy will be joined by Mark Towers, who is a lead developer at Isotonik Studios UK, to discuss how the use of computer programmes like Max, Csound and Pure Data are increasingly being used by creatives in the music, mixed media and visual arts industries. The event will close with a live coding performance in which the audience will be invited to participate.
SIGNAL: LIVE CODE will take place on Friday May 18th. You can register for tickets for free online. See below for more details.
