The 3 Will Tour will support and promote independent venues by taking place in locales not traditionally used as live music settings.
Three of Ireland’s most highly touted new artists, Paula Cox, Paul Creane and The Man Whom, will be part of the collaborative tour, in promotion of their singles ‘Let’s Play A Game’, ‘I Need You Here To Love Me’ and ‘Four Hurdles’.
The tour's innovative approach will be undertaken to support local independent businesses in the spirit of community and collaboration, with unorthodox venues as The Happy Pear in Greystones, Co Wicklow, and Carousel Vintage Clothes Shop in Cork all being used as settings.
The three acts will play a total of 18 dates (see list below), kicking off in Cleere's Theatre, Kilkenny on March 3, 2017, and concluding in Murphy's Barn, Wexford, on April 8. All three acts will sing and play on each other’s material.
According to tour manager Emma Kelly, “Although not exclusive to non-traditional music venues, we are choosing to put on shows in those special local independently run businesses who are keen be involved and support the indie culture of Ireland. This tour is all about community and collaboration, and is reflected by the artists themselves, who will be singing on each other’s material. By doing things this way, we want to shine a positive light on independent Ireland.”
Paula Cox is a highly-rated vocalist and songwriter. An early starter, she was lead singer in The Bush, The Tree & Me when only 14. Signed to Epic in 2000, they recorded their first album with producer Stephen Street (The Smiths, Blur). Following her move to Ireland she has performed and recorded with Colm Mac Con Iomaire, Cathy Davey, Pierce Turner and The Frames. Her solo album, to be released in 2017, will be mixed by Cenzo Townsend (Florence And The Machine, Snow Patrol). Its stunning first track ‘Let's Play A Game’ is out now.
