The “Catch & Release” singer will make an appearance in Dublin this spring.
After Simons played a completely sold out show at Dublin’s Whelan’s last year, the singer-songwriter will now return to Dublin on April 9, 2017, with a headline show at The Button Factory.
No question, Matt Simons’ music has been heard around the globe, especially his hits “With You” and “Catch & Release” were impressing people not only in the States, but also all over Europe. Although he made his way without the traditional backing of a record label, people didn’t fail to notice the Brooklyn-based singer, first of all, over a Facebook ad.
From there on it went upwards with Matt’s music career. He released his first independent album Pieces in 2012, with “Gone” being his debut single.
A year later he gained fame in the Netherlands through his song “With You”, which was placed on one of the biggest Dutch soap operas, and later went platinum there. The New York singer started selling out shows all over Europe, even making an appearance as a guest judge on the Netherlands X-Factor.
When in 2015 his single “Catch & Release” and the (Deepened Remix) were released, the remix hit #1 on Spotify’s Viral charts in 10 countries and #16 on the Global Viral chart. It also hit the iTunes Top 200 in 28 countries and achieved gold certification in Holland.

After his track caught fire, Republic Records signed Matt and gave the single a formal release.
“’Catch & Release’ is about the common shared struggle of the grind and how everyone’s got their own way of dealing with it,” the singer explains. “Some people will go for a run, or others will have a drink, etc. It’s whatever your way of releasing all the tension you build over the course of any given day. We wanted to do something different with the remix. The dance community seems hungry for songs with a deeper meaning. It felt really natural.”
Tickets, priced from €15 go on sale this Thursday 16th February at 9am through ticketmaster.ie and usual outlets nationwide.
