The Shoestring Collective announce 'Saturday Night In' line-up
Singer Emilie Conway, comedy duo Mel & Mel and poet Brian Conaghan are among the acts taking to the stage next week for the Shoestring Collective's 'Saturday Night In'.
This month's Shoestring Collective talent showcase welcomes newcomers to the scene at the James Joyce Centre, Dublin, on May 17.
Jazz singer, Emilie Conway – who's previously received scholarships to Berklee College of Music and to Vermont Jazz Centre, as well as an Arts Council grant – heads the musical bill.
Also playing are Dermot Burke (fiddle) Seán O Broin (flute) and Paddy McEvoy (Guitar), along with Shoestring regulars the iciclethieves, who return this month after a short break from the scene.
There'll be comedy from Mel & Mel, photography from Francesca Floris and Brian Conaghan, the Shoestring Collective's resident poet, will be reading some poems and a few love stories from his short story collection Love One Hundred.
Tickets are €10 Euro, available from the Central Ticket Bureau (www.ctb.ie).
