The Octopus Project, Duchess Says to play Irish dates
Texas electro rock act The Octopus Project and Montreal's Duchess Says play two double headliners next week in Dublin and Belfast.
Forever presents The Octopus Project & Duchess Says this May 13 at The Sugar Club, with a show at Auntie Annie's the following day.
Texas multi-instrumentalists The Octopus Project have been making strides in the US, with appearances at Coachella and SXSW, and praise from the likes of Rolling Stones Senior Editor David Fricke. They released their third album, the electro rock-tastic Hello Avalanche, late last year. They play their Irish debut ahead of summer sets at All Tomorrow's Parties and Lollapolooza.
Duchess says are a punky four-piece from Montreal, headed by vocalist Annie-C. Members of their own church, the band formed "to insure a faithful representation of the message of the Duchess (or spiritual budgie) through a precise artistic dialog". Indeed.
Their debut album, Anthologie des 3 Perchoirs (the translation of which is beyond our feeble french), is, we're told, a religious experience. About budgies.
Tickets for the Dublin show are €14, the Belfast gig is £9.
