The Gaslight Anthem top the Irish Indie chart
Their new American Slang album replaces Villagers at the top of the chart
After four weeks at No. 1 on the Irish Indie chart, Villagers' debut album Becoming A Jackal has finally been knocked off its perch.
A brand new entry, The Gaslight Anthem’s American Slang goes straight into the No. 1 spot. Villagers move down a place, as does Cathy Davey's The Nameless, which slips from No. 2 to No. 3.
Two Door Cinema Club and The Divine Comedy make up the rest of the top five.
Elsewhere, there is a new entry for Kilkenny’s R.S.A.G – Jeremy Hickey’s second album Be It Right Or Wrong is at no. 8.
Other new additions come from We Are Scientists, whose Barbara takes No. 11, The High King’s self-titled album at No. 14 and the Coronas' Heroes Or Ghosts at No. 18.
The Heathers are a non-mover at No. 7 and, after leaping back into the chart last week, the XX fall from No. 13 down to No. 20. The Prodigy's Invaders Must Die slips out of the top 20.
