Ronan Keating makes musical history
Ronan Keating will next month become the first major international act to play in Cambodia.
30,000 locals are expected to attend the Phnom Penh gig, which is being sponsored by the Cambodian Television Network.
The Olympic Stadium show is part of a three-date Asian tour which also takes in Bangkok and Taipei.
It would have been four dates, but Keating has abandoned plans to perform in Colombo due to the volatile political situation in Sri Lanka.
The decision hasn’t gone down well with the country’s Daily Mirror newspaper who ran a story this week under the ‘Runaway Keating’ banner.
“It’s a pity that he decided to avoid Colombo stating the security situation,” they rue. “Sir Cliff Richard was here and he travelled to many parts of the country. Sri Lanka is a safe destination despite the negative publicity in Europe.”
