The two rock 'n' roll behemoths are joining forces in October.
Robert Plant & The Sensational Space Shifters and Van Morrison have been confirmed to join John Fogerty and the Steve Miller Band as star attractions at the BluesFest 2018 in Dublin’s 3Arena.
Percy and Van are both playing full-length sets on Sunday October 28 with Colin Macleod taking care of special guest duties. Tickets priced €89.50 go on sale at 10am on Friday April 20.
As you’d expect, the two of them have a bit of a shared history.
“It’s been way over 50 years since I first shared the stage with Van Morrison; and his band were positioned no.2 on the charts with ‘Here Comes The Night’,” Plant reflects. “His style then and now remains unique and loaded with deep soul. I'm looking forward to an exciting and dynamic night.”
Van, who’s just released You’re Driving Me Crazy with Hammond organ legend Joey DeFrancesco, has a busy summer ahead with noteworthy spots at the Isle of Wight Festival (June 24) and the inaugural Liverpool Feis (July 7) and a spot alongside the likes of Willie Nelson, Neil Young, Elvis Costello and Alison Krauss on America’s travelling Outlaw Music bash.
