Fleetwood Mac co-founder Mick Fleetwood is set to produce a new drama series for Fox titled, 13 Songs.

The series will follow ageing rock star, Jasper Jones, after he is diagnosed with terminal cancer. After being given just a few months to live, Jones reunites with his band, The Grift, to write and record 13 songs as a final act for their fans.

Along with producing the show, Fleetwood will contribute creative ideas and music to the series.

Jonathan Levine will direct the new show. Along with Fleetwood, Willie Mercer and Ron West of Thruline Entertainment, Gillian Bohrer of Megamix, and David Blackman of Polygram Entertainment will also executive produce. Lionsgate and Fox Entertainment will co-produce.

The Development of 13 Songs follows a string of music dramas from Fox. The 2015 hip hop drama Empire was a big hit for the network. Fox is currently prepping for its country music drama Monarch that is set to be released in the fall of this year, after being delayed.

In 2013, Fleetwood Mac cancelled a tour around Australian and New Zealand after bassist John McVie was diagnosed with cancer. Last year, the group re-released their 1980 live album, Fleetwood Mac Live.

Fleetwood is the third member of Fleetwood Mac to sell his interests in the band's catalogue to BMG. It included all of his interests in the group's recorded work, apart from the first two albums.
