Ariana Grande is facing a lawsuit for her 'God is a Woman' music video. A Las Vegas artist has sued the singer alleging federal copyright infringement.

Vladimir Kush and his company Kush Fine Arts Las Vegas are suing Grande as he believes his work appears in the music video for over a minute. The image of a woman in a candle flame strikes a surprising resemblance to Kush' painting, which was copyrighted in 2000.

Kush is seeking unspecified monetary damages and a court order to remove the video from the internet, which has nearly racked up 200 million on YouTube.

With such popularity it will be interesting to see if the video will be taken down from YouTube at all. In only six months, 'God is a Woman' has already inspired the YouTube community and beauty industry immensely.

Many makeup artists were inspired by Grande's music video and YouTubers, such as James Charles who has a huge following of 14 million subscribers, have recreated looks from 'God is a Woman'. Moreover Lush Cosmetics released an Ariana Grande-inspired bath bombs in November 2018 in honour of the music video.
