James Vincent McMorrow joins Eurosonic line-up
He'll be travelling over to Holland in January with Heathers.
RTÉ 2fm has just unveiled James Vincent McMorrow as the second Irish act who’ll be heading to Groningen in northern Holland for the Eurosonic 2011 showcase festival, which is taking place from January 12 to 15.
“I’m really excited to be part of the Eurosonic line-up this year,” enthuses the singer-songwriter who’ll be heading over with the previously announced Heathers. “Just looking at the list of bands that have played there over the last few years, I feel in very good company. And being one of the Irish picks for it makes it doubly special!”
That list is certainly an impressive one with Imelda May, Fight Like Apes, And So I Watch You From Afair, Franz Ferdinand, Marina & The Diamonds, Editors and The xx all benefiting in the past from their Dutch forays.
Already a top 30 hit in Ireland, McMorrow’s debut Early In The Morning will be receiving its respective European and American releases next year through Believe Music and Vagrant Records. There’s also a 7” to look forward to on Dublin independent Any Other City, which is being limited to just 1,000 copies – check [link]anyothercity.com[/link] for full details.
2fm will as usual be broadcasting live from Eurosonic, with Hot Press also in town for the duration.
