IBI Conference to tackle airplay for Irish artists
A panel discussion on radio airplay for Irish artists will be among the events taking place as part of the first conference of independent Irish broadcasters.
Boyzone and Westlife manager Louis Walsh, BCI chief executive Michael O’Keeffe, FM104 programme controller Dave Kelly, Red FM programme controller Colm O'Sullivan and Steve Wall will participate in the airplay discussion, which will be chaired by Hot Press editor Niall Stokes.
Other topics up for consideration on the day include the current economic environment, regulation and the changing landscape of Irish broadcasting.
The conference will take place in the Four Seasons Hotel, Ballsbridge on March 5 and will be attended by CEOs and senior staff members of the broadcasters represented by the IBI. There will also be a number of invited guests including representatives of the BCI, the broadcasting regulatory body, representatives of industries who work with the broadcasters on a regular basis including advertising bodies, the Department of Communications and the CEO of the Radio Academy, the UK’s equivalent of the IBI.
The IBI is the representative organisation for the independent radio and television stations in Ireland, currently representing 26 local radio stations, two regional radio stations, two national radio stations and one independent television station.
