New Orleans based Americana artist Alynda Segarra, known as Hurray for the Riff Raff (HFTRR), will be playing at Whelan's in Dublin on August 31.

The set at Whelan's will kick off their UK and Europe tour, featuring 14 dates. Tickets will be on sale this Friday, January 28th at 10am.

On the tour, HFTRR will be celebrating the release of new album Life on Earth, set to arrive on February 18. HFTRR has so far previewed three, gripping singles: 'Rhododendron', 'Jupiter's Dance' and her latest track, 'Pierced Arrows'.

On the album, Segarra contemplates the relationship between humans and the natural world. The artist deemed it 'survival music for the end times':

"I feel like I’m always leaving clues in my song, hoping my listeners will follow the breadcrumbs,” Segarra said.

"For me, every album is almost a film or a novel or a world I create that I want to live in. I want it to have themes and language, a cosmology or a lexicon, so the listener can live in it, because that’s what I loved about punk and the music that I was drawn to. It wasn’t just about the music, it was about joining a crew."
