Hard Working Class Heroes launched
The showcase event is taking in some new venues this year.
Hard Working Class Heroes 2010 is to take place in Dublin between October 7 and 9.
As in previous years, over a hundred acts will get to play over the weekend, with a limited number of Early Bird tickets on sale now for €35, a saving of a tenner.
Venues confirmed so far are Twisted Pepper, Pravda, The Workman’s Club, The Button Factory, The Mercantile, Sweeney’s and Andrew’s Lane Theatre.
Irish bands and photographers wanting to showcase their wares have up until July 30 to submit their entries to www.hwch.net via-their Breaking Tunes minisite, which will allow them to build a profile.
In case you’re wondering, The Workman’s Club is the new venue next to U2’s Clarence Hotel on Wellington Quay, and due to open during the summer. Booking duties fall to Karl Geraghty who previously worked with Aiken Promotions. We’ll have more info for you in an upcoming Hot Press.
