The year’s biggest stars are the biggest sellers this Christmas
With stocking throughout the country to be stuffed, it’s little surprise to see some of the year’s biggest records sitting pretty at the top of the album charts this Christmas.
Ed Sheeran’s x has been in stores for half a year, but that hasn’t prevented the flame-haired hero from topping the festive charts. He holds off Hozier, whose own monster album sits in second. It’s another male solo artist at three; Sam Smith’s In The Lonely Hour.
A pair of numerically-minded pop behemoths come next – One Direction’s Four and Taylor Swift’s 1989 are at No. 4 and No. 5. There's also spots in the top 10 for The Script, Olly Murs and Take That - in fact, you have to scan all the way to No. 20 to find a new entry – that’s 5 Seconds Of Summer’s live album.
