Superstar lines-up TV special for Wexford St. venue
Ed Sheeran is no stranger to playing Dublin bars - an impromptu session in Doyle's during the summer the last example of such - but it'll be an extra special night in Whelan's later this month.
January 24 will see the VH1 cameras descend upon the Wexford St venue to record Storytellers, where Sheeran will review his career and tell the tales behind some of his greatest hits.
The venue has a special place in the flame-haired hero's heart - it was there that he saw Damien Rice many moons ago. Reminiscing on the occasion, Sheeran says, "That night literally changed my life. The time he spent talking with me after the show made all the difference. It inspired me in a way that I only hope to do for someone else."
400 lucky people will be able to share in the event, but those tickets won't be on sale in a public capacity; instead, fans are to keep eyes on social media in the coming days, where all shall be revealed!
