David Bowie is to be posthumously honoured at the annual Council of Fashion Designers of America fashion awards on June 6.

The late singer was constantly referenced as a huge influence on trends and encouraging individual style. Oscar-winning English actor Tilda Swindon - who starred in the Bowie music video 'The Stars (Are Out Tonight) - will collect the award on behalf of the Thin White Duke.

The awards will feature a musical tribute to the legend by Michael C. Hall - star of the Bowie Broadway musical Lazarus.
