It came about following a conference that was organised by the Popular Music and Popular Culture Research Cluster two years ago, Strange Fascination.
Including work by Bowie boffins including Dr. David Buckley, Professor Shelton Waldrep and Dr. Nick Stevenson, it casts a well-educated eye over the V & A exhibition ‘David Bowie Is’, examines his trilogy of Berlin albums (Heroes, Lodger and Low) and attempts to explain David Bowie fandom as well as focusing on his career as a film actor.
It's published by Routledge, and available now.
