Caught In The Net’s girlfriend won’t like it because it doesn’t star Jennifer Aniston or a cutesy little dog/mouse/guinea pig/other household pet with human personality traits, but we know there are squillions of Hot Press readers counting down to December 18 when James Cameron’s 3-D sci-fi epic, Avatar, hits the big screen.
In what turned out to be a major occasion in itself, the trailer premiered last week at www.avatarmovie.com and looked every bit as visually stunning as its director promised it would be.
A few days earlier, the site had gone in to meltdown as over 20 million people tried to bag themselves a ticket for one of the 16-minute ‘sneak peak’ previews taking place in 58 countries but not, boo, Ireland.

Understanding the Philippines in Southeast Asian context; and – our favourite waste of time – Klingon And Other Invented Languages. That Hdip in Xposé Studies surely can’t be far away.
Which just leaves time for quick visits to snipurl.com/prisoninventions (‘muff-bags’ and other ingenious jailhouse inventions); www.youtube.com/watch?v=IawxMVsL0Xc (Leonard Cohen guests on Miami Vice); sendables.jibjab.com/view/BDM02sjSoZoAJRbL (the Hot Press Art Department as you’ve definitely never seen them before); and twhitler.com (“Hitler-related tweets in handy list form”).
