Five years after the finale of the hit series aired, a feature film within the Breaking Bad universe is underway.
It has been reported that Breaking Bad series creator Vince Gilligan is working on a new spin-off feature film with the script finished and production ready to start later this month.
Although it is not yet known whether stars Bryan Cranston or Aaron Paul will reprise their roles, the two-hour film will be set within the same universe as the original hit television series Breaking Bad and its Netflix spin-off Better Call Saul.
Whether the film is set for a cinema or television release has not yet been confirmed, but the project under the possible code name Greenbriar is set to begin production in Albuquerque, New Mexico in mid-November of this year with Gilligan at the front of operations having written the script, producing and possibly even directing the film. Executive producers of Breaking Bad, Mark Johnson and Melissa Bernstein, are also involved in the project.
