The Villagers man will be at Stephen's Green Centre helping out later today.
He's got two sold-out Villagers shows in the Olympia Theatre to play, but before the first gig tonight, songwriter extraordinaire Conor O'Brien will be in Dublin city centre making his appeal for Marriage Equality. As has been well documented by now, his latest album, the wonderful Darling Arithmetic, deals in part with his own battles against homophobia, particularly on the song 'Hot Scary Summer' (check it out acoustically below). An open 'Vote Yes' canvas has been organised to take place from 2pm at St. Stephen's Green Centre and O'Brien will be present and correct. With arguments like this, you know he's going to be persuasive:
IRELAND! Vote YES on May 22nd for Marriage Equality. Just think of how fabulous the weddings will be pic.twitter.com/OmSFceeXVL

In the current issue of Hot Press, O'Brien opens up to Craig Fitzpatrick about the new album, growing up as a homosexual in Ireland and how he'll never be a rock star.
