U2 fans warned about bogus Slane show
The Garda Fraud Squad investigate online ticket scam
U2 have once again warned fans not to buy tickets for non-existent shows.
This follows in the wake of the news that the Garda Fraud Squad and the National Consumer Association have both been alerted to a US-owned website offering tickets for a supposed July 1 show at Slane for €310 and €425.
Reads an official communiqué: “There are no tour dates for the band at the moment, so please don’t get stung by buying tickets for shows that don’t exist. You can be sure any future live announcements will be made on U2.com as soon as details are confirmed.”
U2 had to issue an identical warning last year when sites advertised an equally bogus run of London O2 shows.
