First shows of Madison Square Garden residency wows Big Apple
Fair play to Bono - even with a sell-out crowd in Manhattan, he still only ranked New York "the second best city in the world".
Or maybe we're being presumptuous, and his favourite is Paris...
Either way, the Dublin band were on stage at Madison Square Garden for the first pair of shows in the iNNOCENCE & eXPERIENCE tour's stop in the Big Apple, which lasts until the very end of this month with six more shows to come.
As usual on this current tour, there were some changes and special moments in these shows, not least when the band performed 'October' for the first time in some 26 years. It was dedicated to astronaut Mark Kelly and politician Gabrielle Giffords, both of whom were in attendance. 'Stuck In A Moment You Can't Get Out Of' was performed in memory of their departed friend Michael Hutchence.
The band are currently taking a breather before hitting the stage again tomorrow (Wednesday) night.
