They're also hoping to find post-360 Tour homes for The Claw.
There was more cause for celebration in the U2 camp last Friday as they broke the Mk. 2 Wembley Stadium’s concert attendance record.
88,000 people were there for the opening night of the 360 Tour’s London stop-off as opposed to the 83,000 who witnessed the Foo Fighters’ last visit to Blighty.
Meanwhile, U2 tour architect Mark Fisher has revealed that they’re hoping to find permanent post-tour homes for their three Claw stage sets, which each cost between £15 and £20 million to make.
“My vision, which I've been discussing with the band, is that we will turn them into concert pavilions,” Fisher enthuses. “Part of the tour will finish in Australia and another part of the tour will finish in South America, where people could use a nice concert pavilion in a park, which has an ability to take 200 tonnes of kit hanging under it. It's a fairly useful thing.”
Finally – for the time being! – sources suggest that the Standard, Deluxe and Super Deluxe remastered versions of The Unforgettable Fire will be released here on October 16.
