Special Dublin shows are also being planned for the end of next year...
It's official: U2 will take Songs Of Innocence on the road in 2015. The iconic Dublin band will kick off their iNNOCENCE + eXPERIENCE Tour next May in Vancouver. Shows across North America and – from September – Europe are planned.
They will play at least two nights in 19 major cities, with Bono saying:
"We are going to try to have a completely different feeling from night one to night two and have some fun playing with the idea of innocence and experience. More to be revealed!"
No firm details of Irish appearances have been revealed as yet, though the official word is that special Dublin shows are being planned for late 2015, to benefit the U2-initiated Music Generation project. As previously suggested, they will be playing arenas this time around, the first time they have done so in a decade. Tickets go on sale from Monday, December 8. There is an exclusive pre-sale for U2.com subscribers from tomorrow (Thurs Dec 4) at 10am. Here are the dates thus far in full:
