Broadway musical triumphs over adversity
Much like its titular hero, the Broadway production of Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark has had its fair share of problems. From injuries to cast members, numerous personnel changes and venomous advanced reviews, it seemed nobody could save the musical from certain disaster.
However, in a further show of emulating its subject matter, the stage show has defiantly risen above hardship to deliver a crowd-pleasing success story. The $75 million production - which features original music penned by Bono and The Edge - generated a whopping $1.7 million in ticket sales over the last week and was the third most popular musical behind established successes Wicked and The Lion King.

It is estimated that Spidey needed to raise $1.2 million in order to stay viable, so we expect there were a few glasses of champagne raised backstage following its roaring success!
