U2 usually play some of the biggest venues in the world, but they’re now going to give some of their lucky fans the chance to watch them perform in one of the most intimate settings possible for a very worthy cause.
Bono and The Edge have announced in a sidesplitting funny video just uploaded onto YouTube that they’re giving their fans the chance to win a special raffle prize to a private rehearsal performance in support of (RED) and Omaze.
It’s a front row, backstage, VIP experience all rolled into one. You will hear your favorite U2 songs during an intimate performance like no other. And the band are even offering to fly the lucky winners over to the private gig because, as Edge jokingly says in reference to one of U2’s popular songs, “sometimes you can’t make it on your own!” He also promises that it will be “even better than the real thing!”
If you’d like to be in with a chance to win this once in a lifetime opportunity you can enter now by logging onto: http://bit.ly/private-U2-show
Every entry of $10 or more supports (RED)’s fight for an “Aids free generation". You can learn more at omaze.com/red and red.org.
To celebrate (RED)’s 10th anniversary, The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation will match every dollar raised by (RED) this year up to $78mm.
It promises to be a great year for U2 fans. “We have ‘Songs Of Experience’ coming, and to honour 30 years of ‘The Joshua Tree’, we have some very, very special shows coming,” Bono recently said.
