Prepare to be amazed by two giants of their genre!
The Cathedral Quarter Arts Festival celebrates coming of age with an 18th birthday special from April 27-May 7 in a wide range of Belfast venues. We're especially looking forward to shaking a leg or two to hip hop pioneers Sugarhill Gang and Booker T. Jones, the evergreen multi-instrumentalist who helped write the soul handbook.
Among the must-sees are:
April 27 - Robert Cray @ Festival Marquee, Chip Taylor @ RAOB Club and K-X-P with Skymas @ Voodoo
April 28 - The Handsome Family @ St. George's Church, William McCarthy of Augustines @ Black Box and Sofie Hagen @ The Sunflower
April 30 - Booker T. Jones @ Festival Marquee, Heidi Talbot @ Black Box and Joan Shelley @ McHugh's
May 1 - Amy Liptrot @ The Green Room
May 2 - Jeremy Hardy @ Black Box
May 3 - The Divine Comedy @ Festival Marquee
May 5 - Rich Hall @Festival Marquee and Interskalactic @ Oh Yeah Centre
May 6 - Sugarhill Gang (pictured) @ Festival Marquee and Richard Herring @ The Mac
