No Sound Without Silence straight in at No. 1.
Having played a homecoming spectacular in Dublin Castle – and appearing on another Hot Press cover - the Script have more celebrating to do, having landed straight in at No. 1 on the Irish album charts.
No Sound Without Silence goes right in at the top spot, followed by another new release; Slash's World On Fire is at No. 2.
Sam Smith's In The Lonely Hour continues its long tenure near the top slotting in at No. 3, while - in something that Hot Press can't recall seeing before - the fourth and fifth positions are taken by albums with, basically, the same name. One is lower case, the other is capitalised, but Ed Sheeran and Chris Brown are respectively toasting the success of x and X.
Veteran diva Barbara Streisand sees Partners jump straight in at No. 6, while another old-timer is at No. 7; Robert Plant's Lullaby And...The Ceaseless Roar.
Royal Blood's self-titled debut is at No. 8, while an incredible 66 week run in the charts continues for ninth-placed Kodaline. Electric Picnic standout Paolo Nutini rounds out the top ten with Caustic Love.
