Danny O'Donoghue gave Hot Press a preview of tracks from No Sound Without Silence
The temperature in Sun Studios in Temple Bar was probably not far off that on the surface of the celestial body itself.
There, a sweaty Hot Press got a chance to listen to five tracks from The Script's forthcoming album, No Sound Without Silence, which is due for release September 12.
O'Donoghue, ever the chancer, wanted a sneak-peek of his own; promptly getting his hands on an advance copy of the issue hitting newsstands today!
The eagerly-awaited album will open with 'No Good In Goodbye'. Listening to the soaring guitar line of the introduction, it's hard not to think of U2 in their prime; that gives you an idea of the sound the band are aiming for.

"We wanted to really bottle the energy up from the live performances, and put it in the album," says O'Donoghue. "We'd never really done that."
By now, most of you will probably have heard ‘Superheroes’; racking up over 400,000 hits since its upload on youtube on Monday, someone’s certainly been checking it out! If you haven’t, you can listen below. It’s a genuine belter, and is guaranteed to be all over radio approaching its release in late August.
Hot Press were told that 'Man On A Wire' is likely to be the second single. The track is a more familiar Script sound, but once again boasts a huge chorus that would be right at home in a stadium setting. Inspired by the story of Philippe Petit's famous tightrope walk between the Twin Towers, the song may well cause some headaches for O'Donoghue when it's time to shoot a video.
"They're trying to get me to do a tightrope walking course," he says. "They want it to be me! They can fuck off..."
'The Energy Never Dies' is another up-tempo number, with drums driving the song along. There's a prominent 'oh-woah-oh' segment that has the boys dreaming of giant festival crowds singing along. It's not hard to see it becoming a reality.
The last track we got to hear was 'Paint The Town Green'. "Spending 90% of our time around the world," says the frontman, "you see the 'Green Army' everywhere. There's always a few tricolours in the audience. We wanted to write a song for those people who are away."
The result is a track that sounds like it could have been written for a World Cup campaign. A rebel-rousing anthem for ex-pats, full of marching band-style drums, the song has live performance written all over it.

And will fans have to wait long to experience it live for themselves?
"We can't give too much away," says O'Donoghue. "But we have huge plans for 2015."
Watch this space, folks! No Sound Without Silence hits the shelves September 12; The Script might be hitting the road soon after!
