Despite objections from local residents, Dublin City Council has given the GAA and Aiken Promotions the seal of approval for the iconic band to play at the stadium on 17 May.
Croke Park only has permission to hold three such events each year. Already, Taylor Swift had been scheduled to play two nights on 15 and 16 June, and Michael Bublé, will perform there on 7 July.
So, the two parties had to seek planning permission to allow a fourth gig at Croke Park for it to actually go ahead.
It's the first time since Garth Brooks controversy back in 2014 that such permission has been granted.
It's understood that approximately 60 local residents lodged objections with the City Council and they said they're "extremely disappointed" with the decision.
The local residents said that An Bord Pleanála had, in the interest of safety and public health, purposely restricted the number of concerts to three per year at Croke Park
