The Rolling Stones have had one of the most prolific music careers and we will be able to watch it unfold in cinemas soon.
Andy Goddard, of Downton Abbey fame, is taking it upon himself to translate the 2008 novel Exile on Main Street: A Season in Hell with the Rolling Stones onto film.
The book, written by Robert Greenfield, dates back to 1972 and chronicles the time spent in France by the band when they were recording and releasing their legendary double LP Exile on Main Street.
Producers are now on the look out for someone to play Mick Jagger and Keith Richards as they intend to start filming later this year. Richards reflected back on that year of 1972, citing it as "a strange atmosphere. It was very, very murky — and dusty." The Rolling Stones were in the news as much for their music as they were for their substance abuse. “It wasn't a great environment for, like, breathing," Richards continued, "Mick Taylor and I would just peer through the murk at each other and say, 'OK, what key is it in?'
No date anticipated yet for a release date but updates will follow.
