The band electrified the expo with a beautiful rhythm-guitar cover of 'Still In Love With You'.
Lead singer and guitarist Mark Austin was excited to play his favourite Thin Lizzy song.
“I freakin' love this!”, he exclaimed at the end of his solo performance.
“We've been huge Thin Lizzy fans since we were kids”, Mark added. “Massive all the way.”
The Minutes loved the exhibition and particularly the huge Thin Lizzy sign that graces the entrance area. They're even thinking of getting a similar sign for themselves.
The Dubliners released their critically acclaimed debut album Marcata last May. They're now touring all around Ireland and will also perform at the Electric Picnic on Sunday September 4, but their Philo cover was an one-off. Mark says that there will be no attempt to cover another Thin Lizzy song in the future because they wouldn't do it justice.
“You need a twin double guitar to play Thin Lizzy songs and we're only a three-piece. The only way to do it would be for Mark to have four arms”, drummer Shane Kinsella laughed.
Don't miss another Thin Lizzy tribute on Monday August 29, this time from Cry Monster Cry, at 1pm.
For those of you who still haven't visited the Philip Lynott Exhibition, this is your last chance. It's running at St Stephen's Green Shopping Centre until the end of the month.
