The young quartet were strutting their stuff at the Groningen showpiece over the weekend - and we caught up with them to discuss supporting The Strokes, getting advice from Frank Black, and the musical anomaly that is Mullingar
While they may look more like layabout teens than burgeoning rock stars - as our man Olaf Tyaransen wasted little time in pointing out! - Mullingar indie-rockers The Academic are poised for big things.
Already racking up admirers, airplay, and some tasty support slots to boot, the quartet were at Eurosonic to strut their stuff in front of some of Europe's biggest players - more than a few of whom, you suspect, will have been charmed by their energetic style. We found a quiet moment, though, to sit down with the lads - and with Kathrin Baumbach behind the lens, they discuss some valuable advice and their plans for the future.
