Snow Patrol’s Eyes Open album won’t be out until April, but there's a little treat for fans desperate for new product.
Such Patrollers should proceed immediately to noise.amnesty.org/site where their take on John Lennon’s ‘Isolation’ is available for paid download.
“I support Amnesty because we have lived our whole lives in freedom – freedom of thought, freedom of expression – and want to ensure others have those basic human rights,” says Gary Lightbody who was introduced to the organisation by U2.
Recorded late last year, it features alongside Maroon 5 ‘Happy Xmas (War Is Over’, The Black Eyed Peas ‘Power To The People’, The Cure ‘Love’ and The Postal Service ‘Grow Old With Me’ on the Make Some Noise EP of Lennon covers.
Along with an April 12 visit to London’s Koko venue that sold out in 30 minutes, the band have announced a short European jaunt that kicks off on February 28 and takes them to Madrid, Brussels, Copenhagen, Cologne, Amsterdam and Paris.
