The troubled singer has revealed in an emotional video that she is struggling with thoughts of suicide and feels lonely.
In the distressing 12-minute long video posted on her Facebook page, Sinead O'Connor reveals that she is now living in a Travelodge motel in the "arse end" of New Jersey, NY.
Sitting on the edge of the bed, she is seen crying as she pours her heart out to the camera. It appears that Sinead is wearing a hospital band on her wrist in the video.
"I'm all by myself. And there's absolutely nobody in my life except my doctor, my psychiatrist - the sweetest man on earth, who says I'm his hero - and that's about the only fucking thing keeping me alive at the moment... and that's kind of pathetic," she states.
"I want everyone to know what it's like, that's why I'm making this video. Mental illness, it's like drugs, it doesn't give a shit who you are, and equally what's worse, it's the stigma, it doesn't give a shit who you are.
"Suddenly all the people who are supposed to be loving you and taking care of you are treating you like s**t. It's like a witch hunt."
She added, "I hope that this video is somehow helpful. I know that I’m just one of millions and millions of people in the world that suffer like I do that don’t necessarily have the resources that I have. I give so much love in my life ... I want everyone to see what it’s like.”
She says she has spent the last two years fighting suicidal thoughts, which is "not living".
“I have been wanting to go for two fucking years. I’m a 5’4” little fucking woman wandering the world for two years by myself."
The Dubliner alarmingly revealed that she wouldn't hesitate to take her own life if she didn't have any family back home still, whom she is sadly estranged from.
"If it was just for me I'd be gone. Straight away back to my mum... because I've walked this earth alone for two years now as punishment for being mentally f**king ill and getting angry that no one would f***ing take care of me,' she said. "I'm a 5'4' little f***ing woman wandering the world for two years by myself."
Sinead says in the video that she is hoping that someone that loves her back home in Ireland will come and help her. "“Nobody in my fucking life ... It’s a crime and it should not be acceptable to any man that knows me or claims to love me," she said.
"I know I have a good heart, even if I've been an a-hole," she said, adding:"I'm really sad and I shouldn’t be here and I know I’m just one of millions and that’s the only thing that keeps me going.
"I’m making this video because I am one of millions. You’ve got to take care of us ... We are doing our best like everybody else."
