You can almost smell the hairspray as Silver Addictive take a leaf out of The Darkness’ book and timewarp their way back to an age when crunching power chords, backcombing and very tight trousers reigned supreme.
You can almost smell the hairspray as Silver Addictive take a leaf out of The Darkness’ book and timewarp their way back to an age when crunching power chords, backcombing and very tight trousers reigned supreme. Fronted by James Joyce’s great grandniece Chris Cristaal – possibly not her real name – the Dubliners certainly know their way round an epic tune, but whether there’s a market nowadays for Heart/Vixen-style histrionics remains to be seen. Still, it’s nice to hear an Irish band who aren’t in thrall to U2, The Thrills or The Frames.
