The pop star plays a confusing amount of roles in her latest video for new single “Bad Liar”, which samples a bit from the classic track “Psycho Killer”.
Selena Gomez has released the video for her latest single “Bad Liar”. The video itself is a whole short movie complete with a cast of characters, mostly played by Gomez herself. As the teenage Gomez finds herself with a crush on her gym teacher (played by Selena Gomez), who is flirting with her father/school principal (played by Selena Gomez), she must hide her crush from her classmates and her mother, (also played by Selena Gomez). The 70s-inspired video was directed by Lemonheads co-founder Jesse Petetz.
"Bad Liar" went viral following its release in May, hitting over 20 million global streams in its first week. Written by songwriting team Justin Tranter, Julia Michaels, Ian Kirkpatrick, David Byrne, Chris Frantz, Tina Weymouth and Selena Gomez, the song samples a bit from the classic Talking Heads track "Psycho Killer", which inspires the video's vintage vibe.
