As an Oscar buzz circulates her, Ruth Negga is staying true to her roots as ever.
The Galway Film Fleadh is a pillar in the Irish film industry, promoting and supporting homegrown talent and this year they've managed to nab Ruth Negga to deliver an acting masterclass.
They couldn't have chosen a better candidate for the job. From her modest beginnings on BBC soap drama Doctors to portraying a lead character in Duncan Jones' mega-blockbuster Warcraft: The Beginning, Negga is now one of the most hotly sought-after actresses in the industry. Negga is currently starring in AMC's production of the cult classic Preacher and she recently visited Cannes Film Festival whilst promoting her film Loving. Starring alongside Joel Edgerton, Loving has been adorned with rave reviews and many publications are citing Negga as a major contender for a 2017 Oscar award.
Now, Negga is coming back to her Irish shores to share her nuggets of wisdom in attaining acting success. Last year the acting masterclass was presented by Oscar nominee John C.Reilly proving that Negga is up there with her contemporaries.
The 28th Galway Film Festival kicks off on July 5 and runs until the 10. We will inform you as soon as we hear wind of what date Negga's Masterclass takes place.
