To those who fear the closing in of pop syndicates like Adele and Ed Sheeran, breathe a sigh of relief as Queen still reign on top.
The Official Charts Company are celebrating their 60th birthday and to mark the occasion, they've released the 60 top-selling albums in British chart history.
Queen's Greatest Hits which was released in 1981 holds its crown as the biggest selling album on the top 60 chart. Since its release, it's sold over 6 million copies in the UK to date. The foursome manage to wedge their way into the top 10 twice as they hold the No.10 spot with their Greatest Hits II which has sold an impressive 4 million. It's the only album to surpass the £6 million mark.
Of course, the aforementioned popstars make their impression on the Top 60 list. Adele's 21 comes in at No.4 and she makes an impressive entrance with 25 which is listed at No.27 despite only being on the market for 7 months! Another notable new entry to the list is Ed Sheeran. His latest effort X has earned him a place on the prestigious list, slotting in at No. 49 with a total of 2.6 million.
